MC Yan to the streets of Hong Kong for a session of slam poetry
MC Yan is a musician, a singer and a poet. He likes exploring new music and lyrics frontiers, merging the hip hop beats with the ancient Chinese poetry tradition. In this video, he takes us on a tour through his home city, Hong Kong, drawing inspiration from its social, political and cultural geography. He sings about the city and
its people, while reading rythmic rhymes from his Moleskine notebook.
MC Yan is one of the new Chinese authors partecipating in the travelling Detour exhibition, in Shanghai.
