From paper to electronic ink and back again, Moleskine comes full circle with protective covers for the Amazon Kindle, the world's most popular e-book reader: a new analog-digital hybrid designed for the e-bookworms.
The features and style of the cover are those of a classic Moleskine notebook: sleek rounded corners, strong elastic band, and the legendary smooth black cover. Inside, a suede lining protects the electronic device, while four corner elastic bands hold it in place.

Each cover includes a package of two reporter-style notebooks with black flexible cover, rounded corners, and blank ivory paper for jotting notes and insights.
The very idea of this new cover came from the Moleskine "notebook hackers", who create their own custom-made accessories weaving together paper pages and digital tools. Throughout the web, hundreds of communities and discussions can be found where such Moleskine "hackers" publish their inventions. Dedicated blogs, Flickr pages, and even YouTube videos highlight the power and vitality of the Moleskine digital-analog connection.
Available on Amazon.
I Love the look and feel of my moleskin notebooks - and this will complete the look and feel of the new Kindle...
What are the chances of Moleskin releasing a cover for the new Kindle 3rd/Latest Generation before Xmas? (This would make the perfect combined gift!)
I like the simplicity of the moleskin. Hopefully, it will use the Kindles "DX hinge system" and not elastics bands!
Thanks! Your patient customer...
Is there to be a version where the Kindle (new version!!) is on the LEFT and the writing pad on the RIGHT?
I wanna a 6" Kindle 3 specific one too! Will definitely get one if it's for Kindle 3
@MBB - Agreed. I'd rather have the eReader on the left, and paper on the right.
Also, I know it's a smaller market, but I have the Barnes&Noble Nook. I would totally buy a case in a heartbeat if it fit with the nook.
that was the first i thought of, too!
I'm thinking though, that if moleskin aren't to come with an opposite configuration, that i could perhaps just have the kindle the other way around, so that it would be on the left side, and then live with having the notebook turning "downwards", if you know what i mean...
but the best would be to have a cover such that i could turn the notebook whichever way i wanted, so people could choose themselves what to have on which side.
I agree with the sentiments expressed above. I just purchased a "latest generation" Kindle 3G (6") and eschewed the Amazon cover once I saw Moleskin's superior offering was available.
I would love to buy a Moleskin cover for the 3G/6" model that has the same great features as the current offering, but is reversible (to allow the notepad pad to live on the right).
I agree. I got my Kindle 3 for 2 months waiting desperately for the moleskine cover.
I guess they just need to cut the slit open at both ends or make it side way for the flexibility of right and left handed people. To my perference, I like the way it is right now. It is weird to open a book on the opposite side.
Hey all, so I came upon this on amazon... It seems to be the new kindle cover. Looks like they've listened to complaints re where the paper is anyway with it now on the right.

Can anyone let me know if this is the one for kindle 3?..

I wanted the moleskine for my kindle 3. BUT the one shown online here has the notebook on the left-hand side, which is fine for left-handed people but hopeless for right handed people: also, I gather, the moleskines here are only available for kindle 2 (I may be wrong on this).
HOWEVER, if you buy a moleskine for a kobo (the Canadian equivalent of the kindle available from indigo-chapters) then you can put the kindle on the left-hand side where is where it should be if you are right-handed.
BUT you need to do a little work with a razor blade to be able to access the variou buttons, since the kindle buttons are in slightly different places from the kobo. BUT the modifications are easy.
FYI
HELP!!! Amazon no longer lists this for kindle 2. I desparately want one for my kindle and would appreciate any help in tracking down one. Or will amazon wise up and start offering them again?
Thanks.
J

The two reporter style notebooks covers looks great. I would love to have them myself. There's just so much stuff for kindle out here I am always a bit confused what to pick!
I love your post, its a bit different from the typical kindle comparison posts and would love to take some content for my kindle 3g review blog. Will leave you a reference link for sure.

The Kindle store's shopping experience is very smooth, very transparent. I have bought a few books, a magazine, and currently on a couple of free trial magazine and blog subscriptions. The latest editions of the New York Times and The Onion are waiting for me first thing in the morning, once you get the hang of how the "Back" button works (versus "Previous Page"), navigating is a snap.
The size of the device is just right - it is very easy to hold and read in bed, at a table, on the couch etc. More on this in the "Needs Work" section. But to be clear, my Kindle goes everywhere with me - the doctor's office, the park, the bus etc. I would like to try Moleskine for my new Kindle...Thanks for this Kindle Review
