Mirko Borsche has worked for the advertising agencies Start Advertising and Springer & Jacoby. Following the strong affinity, he has always felt for magazines, Borsche applied in 1999 for the job of Art Director at Jetzt, the youth magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung which - incidentally - has become a solely online platform in the meantime. At Jetzt, where he stayed until 2002, Borsche defined one of the powerful visual languages of the generation of the 90s, one which still remains valid today and is imitated by many graphic designers. Borsche's influence at that time is perhaps comparable only to that of Alex Branczyk's seminal techno magazine Frontpage. Another important milestone in the career of Mirko Borsche was the Süddeutsche Zeitung for which he assumed responsibility as the Art Director from 2004 to 2007 and to which he gave its own visual signature. In 2007, Borsche took the leap into self-employment and established the Bureau Mirko Borsche in Munich.
