Jia Zhangke has emerged as the leading figure of the Chinese Sixth Generation film movement and one of international most celebrated film artists. Much admired by critics and an inspiration to fellow filmmakers, he has developed an original, ever-evolving style marked by fluid camera movement and a porous, symbiotic relationship between the real and the imagined.
From March 5th to March 20th MoMA celebrates the filmmaker with a retrospective. A custom notebook has been published by Moleskine in a limited run and given out to guests during the opening event.
This MoMA collaboration is part of the Moleskine Special Projects, to which a new section of our website is now dedicated.
