How does an animation come to fruition? At a workshop during the Milano Film Festival, a group of videomakers used Storyboard notebooks to transform their hand-drawn ideas into a stream of consciousness animated short over just 3 days.
In the video above, watch how they sketched out their initial ideas by pencil on the special format, that brings the storyboard structure to the ivory-coloured pages and rounded corners of the Moleskine notebook.
Storyboard frames on the left, blank space on the right. Each second was sketched out in the notebooks, discussed and developed by the group, then cut out and filmed as well as animated digitally. The resulting film is called Fruit Salad: a true showcase of the passage of creativity, from the storyboard to the big screen.
