Happy 10th Birthday, WordPress

WordPress 10th Anniversary
10 years since WordPress launched its open-source blogging platform, the analog and digital worlds are edging closer together than ever before. We are now seeing the rise of analog blogging, which takes the paper page onto the web page.

Through our own WordPress blog Moleskinerie, work uploaded to myMoleskine and videos, hacks, scans and photos of Moleskine creations, the handmade is rendered in digital. What was once perceived as "analog" and "digital" is now a continuum where the two mediums converge. Embodying the bridge between the two is a Moleskine Special Edition WordPress notebook, which shows how important both analog and digital tools are today.
Just like Moleskine objects, WordPress is an open platform for creativity and communication. It allows the things we have started on paper, created by hand and stored in the pages of our notebooks to be published to the web. By connecting the page to the cloud and linking offline to online, we open up more spaces for unbound creativity. In the words of Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of WordPress:
"The mind needs both analog and digital spaces to play and create, and we see those two spaces working harmoniously for a long time to come. We hope people take the blank pages of these WordPress 10th Anniversary Moleskine notebooks and use them to create big and small ideas, to nurture stories and news, and then publish their words to the world via their WordPress sites."
