Laurent Gerber

Gerber Gerber's notebook is a quick trip around theater, music, soul alimentation and culture cooking, from Mozart to the future. Through the idea of a restaurant menu, the book is a significant journey inside his point of view as a metaphor of cultural food to feed our soul.

Born in in 1945 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, studied Social Sciences and when graduating in 1970, received a scholarship from the Italian government to attend the Drama School of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. From 1971 to 1975 he worked as an actor in Italy and in Switzerland and from 1976 to 1981 as assistant at the Teatro Franco Parenti di Milano. Here he set up his first theater productions, deepening also his knowledge of lyrical art. From 1981 to today he is the scenography director of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He has collaborated in around two hundred productions from operas to ballets to concerts to international tours. From 1985 he has also set up many of his own productions and has collaborated with different television program.
