Born in 1962 in Tokyo, Japan, studied photography at Nihon University College of Art but left in 1984 to take a job as an in-house photographer at a Tokyo advertising agency. From 1991-92 he moved to London to work as a photographer for i-D magazine. After he came back to Japan, he had photography shows like "Waves", "Landscapes of suburbs", "Aerial Photography", and "Children in Tokyo". In 1999, he received the 24th annual Ihei Kimura Photography Award for "TOKYO SUBURBIA - Tokyo Kogai", in which he took pictures of the sceneries of the suburbs of Tokyo and the people living there. He is represented by the Gallery 360 Degrees, Tokyo.
