Designed to fit the portability and planning needs of people from all sorts of professions and the most diverse cultural inclinations the 2011 planner/diaries collection gets wider. And smaller.  Two new ebpoints add to the Collection for 2011: the Extra Small and the A4. They are the smallest and the biggest planners in the Moleskine catalogue so far. Full press release here
NOTE. Three different Videos dedicated to the planner collection and created by US and European visual artists will be available on starting from mid October. Hi Res images available

2. Detour Shanghai.
Detour, the travelling exhibition of decorated Moleskine notebooks, comes to a new chapter, in Shanghai at Bund18. Along with international names such as designers Ron Arad, Karim Said, Tord Boontje and musicians Sigur Ros, many new Chinese authors have joined the show in this Shanghai edition, as the celebrated film directors Zhang Yuan and Jia Zhangke, the fashion designer Joseph Li, the photographer Wang Xiaohui, the blogger Han Han, the designers Alan Chan and Lv Yong Zhong, and the visual artists Ai WeiWei and Yang Yongliang. Full press release here. Video available on Moleskine YouTube channel

3. New Cover Art Collection.
In 2009, Moleskine launched an online gallery of creativity and free expression called myMoleskine. Since then, creators from all over the world have uploaded over 2400 images, mostly scans of drawings and paintings made on the pages of their Moleskine notebooks, but also video, and photos of their own Moleskine creations. The new Cover Art collection is a celebration of this whole project. This is a new kind of experience in the relationship between a company and its users: the company designs and manufactures the notebook, the user then fills in the pages with drawings and paintings, scans the pages, uploads the scans on the Moleskine website, the company selects them and makes contact with the uploader. Eventually company and user together come full circle creating a new notebook, where the inside filling become a cover. Press release and hi res photos available on requestNews embargo expiring February 2011.

4. Diary Art. A Moleskine notebook exhibition at Terminal B, Barcelona.
Taking place at FAD (Foment de les Arts I del Disseny), in Placa dels Angels, at the very heart of the creative district of Raval, this exhibition is curated by Terminal B,  a cultural association gathering 3500 members from the Catalan creative community. Artists and illustrators participating in the art show were selected among Terminal B members as along as from (whose first symposium in Portland Moleskine supported in July).
