Setsu & Shinobu Ito
Shinobu's notebook is filled with light pencil sketches that let us see his style of dynamic and fluid forms.
Graduated at Tama Art University in Tokyo and obtained her Master in Design Direction at the Domus Academy in Milan. During these years Shinobu was involved in many projects relating to packaging, industrial design and marketing. Whilst working for Sony Creative Products between 1988 and 1995, she introduced and managed several projects. In 1997 Shinobu opened with her husband Setsu the Studio Ito Design and today provide consulting to many companies both in Japan and Europe. Their client list includes: De Padova, Edra, Sony CP Laboratories, Sharp and Canon. Their style innovative and dynamic with fluid forms, the fruit of their complementary talents and of the combination of their experience in Italy and their Japanese culture.
Following his Master in Production Management at Tsukuba University Setsu Ito was involved in a number of research projects with important Japanese companies. He then moved to Milan where he initially worked in studio Alchimia and then in the studio of Angelo Mangiarotti. During these years of intense cultural stimulation his interests ranged from Industrial Design to architecture and his unique style crystallized. In 1997 Setsu opened with his wife Shinobu the Studio Ito Design and today provide consulting to many companies both in Japan and Europe. Their works has received several awards and some pieces are today part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Munich and Milan.
