Biblioteca Breve Prize 2011

Premio Biblioteca Breve_490.jpgThe first Biblioteca Breve Prize, promoted by the important publishing house Seix Barral, was awarded on June 14, 1958. Since then, this prize for an unpublished novel in Spanish has been held each year to discover and promote new authors. Winners have a chance to be included in the Seix Barral catalog, one of the most prestigious publishing catalogs for Spanish literature. Writers, journalists, publishers, and Seix Barral authors attend the awards ceremony that also invites guests and distinguished cultural figures from all over Spain. Moleskine has taken part in this event, creating a special edition of its notebook customized with the Seix Barral logo on its cover as a gift for guests.

The 2011 edition was won by journalist and writer Elena Poniatowska for her novel "Leonora", inspired and dedicated to the life of surrealist painter Leonora Carrington. The awards ceremony was held at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona.
