A new piece is unveiled in the Moleskine series of collectible limited editions dedicated to the world's greatest museums. Celebrating its 250th anniversary, The Hermitage Custom Edition notebook joins others for the Centre Pompidou, National Gallery, MoMA, SF MoMA, British Museum, Palazzo Strozzi, Guggenheim Venice, Mori Museum Tokyo, MACBA, Suntory Museum of Art, Musée Rodin, Palazzo Grassi.
The special edition comes in a suitably regal palette of black, white and violet. Framed in the paper bands are some of the most prominent works among the over 3 million paintings guarded in the Museum: works by Raphael, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and – in the fourth artwork - an 1860s watercolour of the Hermitage architecture by Konstantin Ukhtomsky.
Founded by Russian monarch and art collector Catherine the Great in the eighteenth century, the Hermitage is one of the world's oldest and largest collections of oil paintings, frescos, etchings, sculptures, engravings and watercolors, with a special focus on the Italian Renaissance, featuring works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Giorgione, Titian and Michelangelo.
The Hermitage limited edition was produced by the Moleskine Custom Editions team and is exclusively available at the Hermitage Museum Shop in Saint Petersburg.
