The Moleskine collection contained in a series of large flight cases as the first UK dedicated Moleskine store prepares for take-off.
A series of supersize flight cases locked up at night and re-opened the next morning reveal notebooks, journals, bags, pens, digital device accessories and cases. This is how the first ever dedicated UK Moleskine store is entering the retail landscape, opening up new spaces for creativity on the move.
Open for just 3 months from March 3rd, it joins the other Moleskine Stores in travel hubs: Malpensa and Linate Airports in Milan; Rome Termini, Turin Porta Nuova, Naples Central and Milan Central Stations; as well as shopping destination Xintiandi Style in Shanghai. Dubbed "non-places" by the sociologist Marc Augé, for Moleskine they signify unbound creativity where new connections can be made.
Maria Sebregondi, VP of Brand Equity and Communications at Moleskine, describes this concept: "Stations and airports are places suspended in time and space but full of energy. Their very existence hinges between an arrival and a departure time, between point A and point B. Here is where we can meet our audience in a mental state very much in line with Moleskine values: designing open platforms for creativity, travelling and cultural exploration."
Part of the store will be dedicated to a Stamp Station, an interactive customization area with stamps and colored inks. Travel memories can be recorded using a variety of designs tailored to the location.
Visitors will also have the chance to discover some of the rare Special Editions that are created in partnership with artists. Canzoni Invisibili, an XL Cahier notebook printed with poems, texts and illustrations inspired by the Italian writer Italo Calvino, and bearing a 7" vinyl of music by Ellen Allien in its cover, will be on sale from April. News embargo until 19th April: for more information on this project please email us.
Moleskine Stores complement the company's vision of opening up spaces for mental log-off time and celebrate the everyday and extraordinary journeys we all make in our lives.
