
Mike Figgis is an eclectic film director, writer, and composer. He started his artistic career in music playing keyboards for Bryan Ferry's first band. After working in theatre, he made a splash with the thriller Internal Affairs (1990). He achieved widespread critical acclaim and box-office success for Leaving Las Vegas (1995), starring Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue. Recent credits include: Guilty Pleasure (2006), The Sopranos - Episode: Cold Cuts (2004), Cold Creek Manor, (2003),The Blues (2003), The Battle of Orgreave (2001), Hotel (2001), Timecode (2000).
