The Congress will continue throughout the Biennale, growing day by day with drawings. Special sessions will be held by the artist, including one organized for Moleskine in which artists and the public use drawings to "discuss" the <b>major conflicts that have affected the world during the last decade</b>. <br /></div><br /><img alt="BiennaleBerlino_new235_02.jpg" src="http://www.moleskine.com/news/Settima%20Biennale%20Berlino/BiennaleBerlino_new235_02.jpg" class="mt-image-none" style="" height="235" width="235" /><img alt="BiennaleBerlino_new235_03.jpg" src="http://www.moleskine.com/news/Settima%20Biennale%20Berlino/BiennaleBerlino_new235_03.jpg" class="mt-image-none" style="" height="235" width="235" /><br /><img alt="BiennaleBerlino_new235_01.jpg" src="http://www.moleskine.com/news/Settima%20Biennale%20Berlino/BiennaleBerlino_new235_01.jpg" class="mt-image-none" style="" height="235" width="235" /><img alt="BiennaleBerlino_new235_05.jpg" src="http://www.moleskine.com/news/Settima%20Biennale%20Berlino/BiennaleBerlino_new235_05.jpg" class="mt-image-none" style="" height="235" width="235" /> <br /><br /><div align="left">The same open platform concept returns in the <b>Moleskine special edition, designed by Althamer</b>: a black notebook with a white space silk-screened on the cover; the cover is also a blank page. Created by Cameroonian artist <a href="http://www.moleskine.com/moleskinecity/urban_interviews/around_paris_with_bili_bidjocka.php">Bili Bidjocka</a>, it consists of a series of eight volumes that travel the world collecting the marks of handwriting as we know it. The setting is Lagos, 11 million inhabitants, the heart of Nigeria and Africa's largest and most modern metropolis. The event comprises a multidisciplinary exploration of the African diaspora through theatre, masquerades, visual arts, music, symposia, poetry slams, and films. <br /><br />This year the Festival will be held <b>at Freedom Pÿk</b>, the former Broad Street Prison, a notorious symbol of slavery and oppression, now converted into a space open to the public. <br /><br />In homage to the Festival, Moleskine has created a <b>special edition</b> which will be given as a gift to the artists and guests in Lagos, including the poets of the "Coffee-Table Collection", Nigerian filmmakers whose works will be shown, and exhibiting photographers.<br /><br /><img alt="LBHF_235_03.jpg" src="http://www.moleskine.com/it/news/Lagos%20Black%20Heritage%20Festival/LBHF_235_03.jpg" class="mt-image-none" style="" height="165" width="235" /><img alt="LBHF_235_01.jpg" src="http://www.moleskine.com/it/news/Lagos%20Black%20Heritage%20Festival/LBHF_235_01.jpg" class="mt-image-none" style="" height="165" width="235" /><br /><br />Each year the Festival focuses on a specific region of the world. The choice this year is the Mediterranean, and Italy in particular, with a series titled <b>"Black Mediterranean: Afro-Italian Narratives"</b>. Among the eminent writers and international scholars who will be present are Nuruddin Farah, Ubax Cristina Ali-Farah, Claudio Gorlier, professor emeritus at the University of Turin, and Armando Pajalich, poet and professor at the University of Venice "Ca' Foscari".<br /><br /><div><b>Lagos Black Heritage Festival<br />April 2-9 <br />Freedom Park, Broad Street, <br />Lagos Island, Nigeria.<br /></b><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>
