An Illustration Exhibition, Photo Books and Experience Tables Introduced at the Opening of Two New U.S. Moleskine Shops in New York City's SoHo and New Jersey's Short Hills Mall

New stores will showcase the imagination of Moleskine fans and the full range of Moleskine collections.

Moleskine shares a collaboration with the School of Visual Arts as it expands its U.S. retail presence in New York City's SoHo and New Jersey's Short Hills Mall. The new shops will be platforms for the imagination of Moleskine fans and the entire range of Moleskine objects, including: notebooks, journals, pens, digital device accessories, cases, and bags from the Travelling collection.

The SoHo and Short Hills shop openings follow the spring 2013 debut of the first U.S. Moleskine retail space in Time Warner Center in New York City. The SoHo store, located on 436 West Broadway, opens today, while the Short Hills Mall location will officially open on November 15th.

Moleskine Places.
The shop design mirrors the elegance and simplicity of the Moleskine notebook: the classic black rectangle is reimagined as an open platform for imagination in a physical space. A map covers the floor, symbolizing the mobile identity of contemporary nomads. An experience table with unique custom stamps and writing tools allows visitors to interact with different tools to find the one that helps their ideas flow.

Visitors will also have the chance to discover Special Editions, the Moleskine Travelling Collection of bags, and hard to find Moleskine collections including: limited edition planners, iPad covers, and specialty notebooks.

New Locations, New Discoveries.
The two new locations will also be the first to carry gift cards for the Moleskine Photo Books, which allow anyone to create a custom Moleskine Photo Book via the Moleskine print-on-demand service. In January 2014, the stores will sell Moleskine gift cards that can be used on Moleskine.com and in all Moleskine retail locations.

Unique to the SoHo store will be a temporary exhibition by the students of the MFA Illustration as Visual Essay program from the School of Visual Arts.

The exhibition features illustrated portraits of the French author Marcel Proust in Moleskine Sketchbooks. The exhibition is presented as part of a partnership between Moleskine and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to celebrate the centennial of Proust's novel Swann's Way. Moleskine is also curating live illustrations at a week-long nomadic reading of Swann's Way beginning on November 8th, 2013 (www.frenchculture.org/books/events/nomadic-reading).

­­­An Increasing U.S, Retail Presence.

With locations around the world, including Heathrow Terminal 1 in London, and Sanlitun Village in Beijing amongst others, the arrival of the SoHo and Short Hills Mall stores are the next chapter of the brand's retail presence in the United States.

More retail locations are slated to open internationally in 2014.
