Vincent Cianni is a photographer based in Brooklyn with a keen eye on the skater community in Williamsburg. Projects include an eight-year study of urban Latino youth in New York City, published as "We Skate Hardcore".
Cianni's work has been featured in many journals and publications, including DoubleTake, Creative Camera, Aperture, Contact Sheet, and The Polaroid Book. He has also exhibited at Museum of Fine Arts (Houston), Museum of the City of New York, Center for Documentary Studies (Durham, NC), 7th Internaltionale Fototage (Mannheim), The George Eastman House (Rochester), and Griffin Museum (Winchester, MA). His work is also featured in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Polaroid Corporation, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Worcester Museum of Art, Museet fur Fotokunst, and Bibliotheque National de France. Cianni has received Grants and Awards from the Jerome Foundation, Light Work, NYSCA, Ruttenberg Foundation (Friends of Photography), NJ State Council on the Arts. American Association of University Presses, Best book Design for Trade Publication, No Strings Foundation - nomination and an Award Nomination for First Santa Fe Prize in Photography.
