1. New Collections Launch. Writing, Travelling, and Reading: three new collections, a full set of tools for creativity and cultural enjoyment will be presented during the Salone del Mobile, starting from April 11, 2011, in a series of events taking place throughout the city of Milan. Main event: the
SCRIBA, an analog/digital installation celebrating the ancient gesture of handwriting through a scribe-robot that transcribes (with a Moleskine Roller Pen) tweets and thoughts collected from the web. Full list of events
here. Full media kit for the new collections available
here.
2. Moleskine Artist Marketplace. A new kind of
e-commerce platform that celebrates the uprise of DIY Moleskine art and handmade customization. Embroidery, origami, oil paint, silkscreen, engraving, debossing, photography, taxidermy: on the ArtMart, Moleskine fans can purchase one-of-a-kind, customized notebooks, journals and planners directly from Moleskine user-artists. Inspiring the new website is a wave of spontaneous Moleskine art, developing into a new artistic genre nurtured on the web, where artists often share images and videos of their own notebook creations. See full
press release.
3. The Hand of the Graphic Designer. Graphics before the mouse: FAI, The Italian National Trust and Moleskine present the third in a series of publications celebrating the role of hand drawing in the creative process, before the mouse comes into action. The Hand of the Graphic Designer exhibition and book showcase 367 original sketches by 108 international graphic designers. Worldwide preview during Milan's Salone del Mobile, in April 2011.
Available on the new
Moleskine Store from April 12 (EU only) and in bookshops worldwide starting from July. Full media kit
