Detour is a Moleskine project supporting lettera27.
Detour is a Moleskine project dedicated to traveling culture and creativity worldwide. An itinerant group show that features internationally recognized artists, architects, film directors, graphic designers, illustrators, and writers.
Detour is a small piece of the Moleskine journey, where interlacing stories merge. The itinerant group show Detour, supervised by Raffaella Guidobono, invites authors to compile sketchbooks with experienced knowledge insider tips for adventure hungry nomads. They are asked to invent an itinerary for an expedition, a map of a tour, a daily adventure, the discovery of something to look forward to, the beginning of a trip, the signs of well known or unknown visionary places, the exploration or the conquest of a region never visited before, as well as something in the city constantly seen and beloved.
Detour supports lettera27, a non-profit Foundation whose mission is to defend the right to literacy, education, and access to knowledge and information all over the world, with a special focus on more deprived areas. The authors donate their participation and their notebooks to lettera27.
The archive of the many notebooks created for Detour, donated by the artists and writers to the foundation, is on permanent display online (link) and constitutes a growing patrimony of beauty, culture, intelligence, and relationships. Its voyage around the world, through the exhibitions organized by Moleskine, is a continual source of opportunities and resources for lettera27.
These exhibitions have been held in London, New York, Paris, and Berlin, and will be held in Istanbul, Tokyo, and many other cities.
