Julie Polidoro was born in France in 1970. She lives and works in Paris. She uses coloured pastels to draw on different base materials, investigating the sphere of the individual's relationship with the physical and social system to which they belong. Playing fields, public spaces, waiting-rooms and domestic interiors are the zones in which the artist explores and unites identities, everyday objects and ordinary situations. Julie Polidoro defines her work as a dimension which is open and mobile, in which figurative and existential planes coexist without hierarchy; things, spaces and people occupy the same ray of visibility, both polar opposites and contiguous at the same time. Recently she had a show at 41 Contemporanea Gallery in Turin.
