The power of the blank page is being harnessed by young creatives at advertising workshops run by non-profit organization The One Club. Using customized Moleskine XL Kraft Cahiers, participants can jot down initial ideas and form them into fully blown campaigns. Created especially for the Creative Boot Camp series, which introduces students from diverse backgrounds to the world of creative advertising, the covers are emblazoned with the key message "Diversity is changing the face of advertising" in dark red silkscreen.
The advertising industry can often prove difficult to break into and its thanks to such initiatives that it is being opened up to a wider spectrum of society. The Creative Boot Camp runs in various cities around the world over 4 days, allowing students to discover what it's like to work on a real brief, creating a campaign and pitching it to top industry professionals. The blank page plays a crucial role in this process, allowing ideas to grow into concepts. Through documentation, the notebook becomes an archive which the students can continue to reap throughout their future careers.
The next Boot Camp will take place in Chicago's Columbia College on March 21st – 24th.
