Unleash human genius through hands on paper to empower creativity and knowledge in each individual and the entire world.
Moleskine believes that creativity can change the world. Human creativity is the ultimate renewable resource that we can all draw on to move society towards sustainability.
Committed to driving positive change: Moleskine supports the Moleskine Foundation and its programs to promote access to creative skills development. Because access to creativity and quality education is key to producing positive change in society and driving our collective future.
"Every Moleskine notebook is a book yet to be written."
Maria Sebregondi, Moleskine co-founder and president of Moleskine Foundation.
Moleskine notebooks are kept and treasured, not discarded after use. They are collected over time, our most precious stories imprinted on their ivory-colored pages.
That said, Moleskine’s circular economy strategy means unsellable items are recycled or repurposed. They are repurposed into creative tools donated to charitable organizations or recycled into new materials. In 2022, we donated about 30k products and recycled about 70 tons.
If you ever have to separate yourself from your beloved notebooks, be sure to remove the cover from the pages for recycling to continue this circular process.
Forests are a precious part of our planet and our lives. This is why Moleskine is fully committed to their responsible management by nurturing, restoring and protecting forests, their ecosystem and communities: Moleskine has been FSC™ certified since 2008 to support the mission of the Forest Stewardship Council™. Look for our FSC™ certified products.
For over 25 years, FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council™) has promoted environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. It is the leading catalyst and defining force for improved forest management and market transformation, shifting the global forest trend toward sustainable use, conservation, restoration, and respect for all.
During their life, trees absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere as they grow, locking up a proportion of this in wood (and then paper) fiber and stopping carbon from being dispersed into the air we breathe.
Moleskine is defining an active CO2 reduction plan, devised in accordance with the Paris agreements and that will be submitted for validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
As part of this plan, CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2) are being measured and validated by an external independent auditor.
At Moleskine, we believe in the fundamental value of inclusivity, always.
We support equality and diversity and encourage our community to use our collective intellectual and emotional curiosity to immerse ourselves in the wealth and beauty of diversity. We seek to enrich each other through our differences and ultimately change society through creativity.
These beliefs are expressed through actual actions. The Moleskine recruitment process welcomes different nationalities, languages, ethnicities, and educational backgrounds. What's more, 60% of top and middle management are women.
At Moleskine, personal development and wellbeing are fundamental for the success of the company. That’s why we develop career plans to inspire our people towards self-empowerment and personal growth.
Work smarter, not harder: that’s our motto. Our flexible work culture encourages our people to act in a results-oriented way. Since 2020, Moleskine has implemented a Work From Home policy for 50% of working hours for all its employees.
Moleskine is also focused on the talent of the future. As such, we created the Gen Z Board, a group of 18 talented young interns and employees from all over the world who work in direct contact with our CEO to identify the values that make the brand relevant to young generations.
We care for everyone involved with Moleskine by guaranteeing transparency in all procedures. This applies both within the company and to external partners.
Our relationships with suppliers are based on trust, transparency, integrity and the guarantee of ethical behavior throughout the supply chain. Our Code of Ethics (est. 2012) is required of all third parties.
Moleskine and all our strategic suppliers are members of Sedex, one of the world’s leading ethical trade organizations. These suppliers are compliant with the SA8000 International Social Responsibility Standard (or equivalent), and 96% of them are ISO14001 certified.
