Ground Effect Gallery | 23-26 February 2022

28 Rue Meslay, 75003 Paris, France
A selection of young resident artists were invited by Ground Effect Gallery to interpret the question ‘What comes first?’, using a Moleskine notebook. The artists belong to various creative fields: architecture, design, painting, sketching, music and more, generating a truly rich and unique take on the theme. Their artworks are exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo and at the Ground Effect Gallery closing exhibition.

Writer, independent curator, lecturer, art critic and essayist, Simon Njami, is conducting a special AtWork workshop as part of Detour Paris 2022. This unconventional educational format by Moleskine Foundation will explore the question 'What comes first?' with 25 young creative talents from local communities. The topic stimulates discussion and self-reflection on issues such as identity, culture, and community. As a final output of the workshop, each participant will produce a personalized notebook to be put on display at the Palais de Tokyo from 15 February 2022.

Le Bon Marché | 9 February - 31 March 2022

24 Rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris, France

A historic destination for Parisians and cosmopolitan travelers for almost two centuries, Le Bon Marché is much more than a ‘grand magasin’. The space has been fostering culture and the arts since 1875 with the opening of an art gallery on the premises where painters and sculptors could exhibit their works to patrons, and more recently with the creation of its Carte Blanche à un Artiste, a contemporary art event that takes place in the store every January. A magnificent place and a natural choice for the second part of the Detour Paris exhibition, where a selection of notebooks from the collection is on display.
